Welcome to Northern Dog! These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) outline the rules and guidelines for the use of our dog walking services. By using our services, you (“Client”) agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.

Services Provided Northern Dog offers professional dog walking services, including but not limited to daily walks, group walks, solo walks, adventure hikes, off-leash play, and other pet care services as agreed upon with the Client. The services provided are subject to availability and may vary based on Client needs.

Booking & Scheduling
Booking: Clients must book services at least 12 hours in advance, depending on availability.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least [Insert notice period, e.g., 24-48 hours] in advance. Cancellations made after this period may incur a cancellation fee of [Insert fee, e.g., 50% of the total cost].
Late Fees: If a Client is late for scheduled appointments, a late fee of [50%] may apply.

Payment Terms
Payments for services are due at the time of booking or as agreed upon.

All payments are non-refundable, except as stated in our cancellation policy.
Invoices for services rendered will be provided upon request.

Client Responsibilities
Pet Health and Safety: Clients are responsible for ensuring their dog is healthy and fit for walking. Clients must inform us of any health conditions, allergies, or behavior issues that may affect their dog during walks.
Proper Identification: All dogs must wear proper identification tags, including the dog’s name, owner’s contact information, and any relevant medical details.
Leash & Equipment: Dogs must have a properly fitted collar or harness and leash for walks. Weather-appropriate gear (e.g., booties, jackets, or cooling vests) must be provided by the Client when necessary. Northern Dog can supply additional leashes as needed.

Health, Safety, and Preventative Care Requirements
Vaccinations: All pets must be up-to-date on the following vaccinations:
DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza)
Rabies
Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
Proof of vaccination must be provided upon request and kept current.
Flea and Tick Prevention: Pets must be treated with an effective flea and tick prevention product that remains active during the service period. Proof of treatment may be required.
Northern Dog reserves the right to refuse services if health, safety, or preventative care requirements are not met.
The Client is responsible for any additional costs resulting from non-compliance, including cleaning or treatment costs.

Liability
Owner’s Liability: The Client acknowledges that all dogs are walked at their own risk. Northern Dog will take all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of the dog, but is not liable for any injuries to the dog, other animals, or people during the walk.
Emergency Vet Care: In case of emergency, if a dog requires veterinary care, the Client agrees to cover any related costs. The Client authorizes Northern Dog to seek emergency veterinary care if necessary.
Property Damage: Clients are responsible for any property damage caused by their dog during walks, including damage to public or private property.

Adventure Hikes and Off-Leash Play
Northern Dog offers adventure hikes and off-leash play for dogs with suitable temperaments and recall abilities. Clients may choose whether their dog participates in these activities. It is the Client’s responsibility to inform Northern Dog if they do not wish their dog to participate.
While Northern Dog takes every precaution to ensure the safety of dogs during adventure hikes and off-leash play, these activities carry inherent risks. By allowing their dog to participate, Clients acknowledge and accept these risks. Northern Dog will not be held liable for injuries or incidents arising during such activities, except in cases of negligence.

Inclement Weather
In the event of inclement weather (e.g., heavy rain, snow, or extreme temperatures), Northern Dog reserves the right to reschedule or modify the dog walking services for the safety of the dog(s).

Termination of Services
Northern Dog reserves the right to terminate services at any time if it is determined that a dog poses a risk to the safety of other animals, people, or the walker. In such cases, the Client will be notified, and any paid services not rendered will be refunded.

Privacy & Confidentiality
Northern Dog respects the privacy of our Clients. We do not share or sell any personal information provided by the Client to third parties, except as necessary for the provision of services or as required by law.

Home Visits and Key Handling
Key Handling:
Clients may need to provide Northern Dog with a key to their home for the purpose of facilitating home visits.
Keys will be securely stored and not labeled with personal information.
Keys will only be used for the purposes of providing services and returned within 7 days of termination of services or as mutually agreed.
Access to Home:
The Client must provide clear instructions for accessing their home (e.g., alarm codes, gate codes).
Northern Dog is not responsible for issues arising from incorrect or incomplete instructions.
Safety and Security:
Our caregivers will follow all security protocols provided by the Client, including locking doors and setting alarms upon departure.
In emergencies, the Client authorizes Northern Dog to access the home to safeguard their pet.
Food, Medication, and Supplies:
The Client must provide pre-measured and clearly labeled food and medications with instructions.
Northern Dog is not responsible for administering care if instructions or supplies are unavailable or improperly organized.
Liability:
The Client agrees to hold Northern Dog harmless for loss, theft, or damage to the home unless caused by negligence or intentional misconduct by Northern Dog staff.
